Year 1
In year 1 we have been working hard this Spring term. We have read the story of Handa’s Surprise and we loved it! We wrote our own Handa Stories and painted pictures. We also retold the story through dance and Miss Jackaman danced like a monkey!
We have been using the Bee-Bots and pushing the buttons to make them move. We had to instruct the Bee-Bots around Katie Morag’s Island.
In Mathematics we have been measuring using measuring worms. We measured lots of things around the classroom.
We have been learning about homes from the past. We looked at some old artefacts from Victorian homes and compared them to things we have in our houses.
We have been learning about materials and their properties. We wrote stories about the fourth little pig and one of the children made a house from jelly and the wolf bounced off it!
