Clubs

(N.B. As the website expands, a page will be created for each of our clubs, with photos and more detailed information about their activities).

The children in Key Stage Two have been very active this term and lots of children have taken part in after school clubs. The children have been lucky because a variety of clubs have been running.

Possible new clubs that will run at Bushbury Hill Primary School in the Summer Term are rounders, cricket, funky hip hop and tag rugby.

Mr Whitehouse is looking for cricket players in years 5 and 6 for a tournament in April which will be held at Ford Houses Cricket Club.

Book Club

There is a book club in school once a week and children can bring money to school and purchase book token stickers. When the book club member has saved enough tokens they can buy a book club book and parents are welcome to join their child in choosing a book.

Dance club

Some children in years 5 and 6 have taken part in Miss Dawson and Miss Smith’s hip hop dance club and performed at the Christmas party. They also studied jive and performed a jive routine in the Christmas production. The school was also treated to a jive display in assembly in the Spring Term. New members are welcome to join the hip hop club next term and learn some funky moves.

Multi-skills club

Years 4 and 5 have been members of the multi-skills club which has been run by Mr Preston from Westcroft Sports College. The children have taken part in ball games and developed their agility, co-ordination and speed. A big thank you to Mr Preston for all his hard work!

Netball

Years 4 and 5 have taken part in Miss Smith’s Netball club. Miss Smith was very pleased with the team who played in Moreton’s high-five netball tournament in the Spring Term. Well done girls!

Football

Mr Preston has organised a years 3 and 4 football club and Mr Whitehouse has run a football club for children in years 5 and 6 this Spring Term. The football team has had mixed fortunes in the football league and has won matches against Holy Rosary RC School and Ettingshall Primary. We suffered a heavy defeat against a strong team from Long Knoll Primary School. Mr Whitehouse would like to thank all the players who have attended games whatever the weather!

Cross- country running club

We have had another successful year taking part in the interschool, district and regional final in cross country.
